Tone on tone: small powder room update

This small powder room was dark and outdated. It was covered in dark green wallpaper, had tile countertop, and the vanity that has not been updated since the 80s.

Our clients, a young family of 3, wanted to make the compact room feel bigger and brighter. The space had to be transformed to become more modern with a wow factor, but still be in keeping with the rest of the house. We wanted to give our clients something unique and unexpected yet timeless and classic, a solution that would make the bathroom seem larger, that is how the idea of the color of the wall was born: a classic deep blue that works in almost any setting, whether modern or traditional. The darker glossy tile made the room feel bigger than it was and became a perfect drop for an antique gold mirror we planned to reuse.
Instead of the traditional white or wood cabinetry, we chose a shade of blue to add an element of the unexpected, add sophistication with the tone-on-tone combo and golden accents. Other details were carefully chosen to support the look.
