In this project we were asked to transform an existing empty basement into a rental studio that could double as a parents’ suite. Our clients, a young couple, wanted to reconfigure the space to include a bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen, and a living space. Taking into account some of the existing features, we came up with an idea of a practical yet comfortable urban dwelling. We designed a full kitchen that has all the necessities like plenty of storage and space for full-size appliances; allocated space for a small but functional living room; reconfigured the existing powder room and turned it into a bathroom with shower; and converted the former living space into functional bedroom.
