Basement redesign for a family who loves music and plays a variety of instruments including guitars, piano and drums. The idea behind the project was to create a practical eclectic space, where our clients would enjoy playing and listening to music. Our small space squad rethought the layout of the basement and came up with solutions to accommodate all of the homeowners “wants“: 3/4 bathroom, home office for 2, gym space, kitchenette, guest bedroom, family room and a “music corner“ for the drums and the cherished piano. No corner in the space was left unchanged: we moved quite a few walls, electrical, plumbing, replaced the flooring, added lost of additional lighting and storage, chose a color palette to reflect the homeowners taste, and made sure our clients’ own paintings and beloved antique piano was in the spotlight.
